Lurked against the grey barks
A prowling menace
By an idle mind

Forever in wait
The boy swayed
Tussling in fear
At home, in the clutches
Of his raging concern

As the bustling world
Truthfully spawned
From his bothered
And lonesome mind

There was no malice
Stalking fiends
Of his foolishly
Planted treads

He was alone
Far-gone in his worry
By his murderous dreams

For all noises loom
With vicious want
In the treachery of solitude
In nature’s slithering deceit
My shoveling efforts
Were a weary
And death-bound cause

Dealing in earth
A defiler
Of long lost years

By nightly fog
I seethed with hunger
To relive
To restore
The asylums of old

Yet I reaped
Only torrents
Of dingy sweat

Fruitless, hollow
And tumbling
For my own grave
Of endless remorse
I am deeply devoted
To my every
Festering concern

As I wearily descend
From the lonely
Spire of rage

From the zenith
Where I gushed
In fervent pints

By the world
And its every
Death-bearing spark

I am now lost
Among inner perils
As scores are minced
In the frenzy
Of timeless panic

Scattered I remain
Prowling the fringes
Of an era
I can never fully know
Hellfire strangles
All poor
Devoted fools

The heartfelt swarm
Of the young
Cradled in the folds
Of their smoldering wrath

At daybreak’s
Auburn and deathly toll
Where the primal reigns
With mechanized fury

It bursts forth
On heaving
Metallic beasts

In their thundering crawl
To feed on crimson valor

At home
Beneath the shrill
Murdering torrents
Of scalding iron
I was never involved
By the world’s
Turning chorus

Its faded mantra
Dwelt softly
From my hearth
Of home-brewed distress

For I was
The dearly departed fool
The internal rover
And loyal to silence

The spectator
Who never truly coursed
With the restless
Swill of valor

In the infinite
Sprawling shadow
Full, with ruthless want
I had a dream about time traveling back to the 1920s. I married Josephine Baker and began a career as a novelist in Harlem. Why do I always dream about escaping the present? Also, happy valentines day!

You're very welcome! Now, now, you definitely deserve it. ^^ Everyone deserves to have their story/poem narrated. You have worked very hard and I can tell in your piece. All I can say is never give up.
